Accelerated weight loss: features of the 6-petal diet

The diet with the beautiful name "six petals" is an accelerated weight loss method developed by Swiss nutritionist Anna Johansson and on the officially recognized list of the Association of Nutritionists. Europe. The special feature of the 6-wing diet is that according to its developers, it makes it possible to achieve quick results in a relatively short time. Let's find out what the "six-petal diet" is, does it really work, and what to do to lose that extra weight?

Lose weight in six days: the six-petal diet

The popular Six Petal Diet was developed by Anna Johansson, a Swedish nutritionist. It is created on the basis of separate nutritional principles and consists of six single diets, that is, each day the menu should include only one type of food. The diet is designed in such a way that the so-called protein days alternate with carbohydrate days, which, according to the nutritionist, help to get rid of unnecessary pounds as soon as possible. The main condition is that with this method of weight loss it is not possible to change the menu every day nor the single dietary sequence.

Why the 6-wing diet? Everything is quite simple: before starting to observe it, the author proposes to draw 6 petals, mark each stage of the diet, and make a flower out of them, and then tear them apart every day. as we move towards our cherished goal. According to the author, this will help support the motivation of a person who is losing weight: every day, when he gets out of the next petal, he clearly sees where the road has passed, how much remains ahead.

The basic rules of the petal diet

Each weight loss technique has its own rules. The six-petal diet is no exception:

  • meals should not be less than four, the interval between meals should not exceed four hours. The best options are two breakfasts (after a certain period), lunch, afternoon tea and dinner (preferably no later than six o'clock in the evening);
  • Food in the process of consumption must be chewed thoroughly. This will help enrich it with enzymes and improve digestion;
  • adhere to the drinking regime. You can drink plain water (at least a liter and a half per day) and unsweetened green tea. Do not drink while eating, it is better to do half an hour before or after eating;
  • In the menu for a day, the amount of salt consumed should not exceed 5 g, that is, about 2/3 of a teaspoon. You can use fresh or dried herbs as seasonings.

In the process of following the diet, you will have to remove six petals:

  • all baked goods except a few slices of whole grain bread per day;
  • all types of sweets, the list of which includes store-bought and homemade confectionery products, preserved candies and jams, chocolate and all other products containing large amounts of sugar;
  • butter and vegetable oil;
  • canned and smoked foods, as well as fried foods, processed semi-finished products, fast food products;
  • assorted coffee, carbonated soft drinks, soft drinks, jellies, packaged juices. On the last day of the (fruit) diet, you can enjoy some freshly squeezed juice.

And the last rule: in each day of weight loss, the menu must not contain products that are not in the specified group.

Advantages and disadvantages of weight loss with separate macrobiotic methods

The advantages of the petal diet are:

  • it helps you to lose a few pounds in just one week;
  • alternating single diets is easier to transfer, for example, one must be followed for several days;
  • Regular meals help people lose weight not feel hungry.

This technique has no disadvantages, namely:

  • A rigid diet, like any other mono-diet, is stressful for the organism as a whole. He gets some products in excess, while others are clearly inadequate, in other words - the balance of nutrients is disturbed;
  • does not conform to personal preferences. For example, some people don't like fish and have to eat it all day. This is a type of psychological stress;
  • The effectiveness of separate feeding is not fully proven. It's like the placebo effect: when a person believes the diet will help him get slimmer, it can come into play. He does not believe - he runs the risk of joining the ranks of the participants in the experiment, who did not help to lose weight separately. By the way, scientists from the Weizmann Institute Israel conducted a study, as a result of which they found that different people's organisms can react differently to different foods. Accordingly, the results of the diet may vary;

A study on the direct effects of dietary ingredients on the human body was also conducted by scientists at the University of Colorado in 2016.

but the main drawback of the diet is that such a technique cannot change a person's attitude towards food. It may help you lose weight, but it won't eliminate the cause.
